Ever watched a movie so bad that you had to pause every five minutes to sigh in astonishment, while you try to handle the nausea working its way up your gut? If your answer is no, then you are in the right place. We are recommending these five TV series to you because you might cry thirty minutes into watching them, they are that good, or something.

- 24: Legacy
Watching one of my favourite TV series flop after nine seasons because of an ill-conceived reboot is maybe one of my most disheartening moments of the year. Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) makes a fine successor to Kiefer Sutherland, but he’s hampered by lazy directing and an incoherent plot. A series as hallowed as 24, should never be rebooted by FOX. They should let the Legacy live.
- The Orville
This series by FOX is guilty of working too hard to accomplish nothing, it’s here, it’s there, it’s everywhere. The very talented Seth Mcfarlane is lead cast, but even he cannot savage this charade of a Space Drama. It’s like The Wedding Party 2, but in Space. Take nothing away from The Orville, the CGI was most impressive especially for a TV drama, but with low grade acting and draggy comic additions, even that counted for nothing.
- Iron Fist
I had high hopes for this one, it’s not every day Marvel gives us a Superhero with mystic powers on television. So, I anticipated up until it happened. It felt like a parody from start to finish thanks to a lead character (Finn Jones), who should have no business with acting in this role, shoddy fight scenes resembling a sub-par Chinese movie and finally, a vapid plot. Coming after Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage, Marvel and Netflix’s Iron Fist was a monumental step-down.
- Friends from College
A poorly written cliché script adorned with an immiscible bunch of actors, and viola we have Friends from College. Its juvenile in every way, like a 2017 version of Drake and Josh, with way less humour. Characters had no substance to their roles, so they were bound to overact in even the most elementary of scenarios. Dimwitted, this was
- Inhumans
Never has any cinematic universe made anything this bland and pointless. Inhumans was set to be the spin-off for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., so for many of us who are ardent followers of the franchise, we expected an overdose of awesomeness. What we were served however, was a combination of a bad script, an incredibly crappy dialogue and plot holes big enough to swallow Attilan. Inhumans is in a class of its own, a class less than mediocre. Stories like these are best adapted into animation. Marvel owes their every fan an apology for this cinematic misfire.

John writes and writes well! Have only seen Legacy of this bunch and Corey kinda blinded my eyes from the bland plot and shabby directing. Good one man. Keep ’em reviews coming. Would need one for the good series as well.

@Chris Nomjov, thank you. As per what good series I can recommend, check out the Handmaid’s tale, The Punisher, Twin Peaks, Stranger Things, Black Mirror, How To Get Away With Murder. Mr. Robot, Game of Thrones and American Gods. If I did a listicle of my best series this year, it would look something like that.
INHUMANS broke the bough for me. After so much episodes, i was still waiting for the marvel feeling, but.
